AYEYARWADY TIMES August 6 The provisional government forces conducted continuous airstrikes on Myauk U city in Rakhine State on the night of August 4th, using a group of jet fighters and Y-12 aircraft, resulting in injuries to four innocent displaced civilians, according to a statement released by the Arakan Army (AA) Information and Public Relations. The military carried out the bombing for over an hour during the night, from around 9 PM to past 10 PM on August 4th, dropping more than 30 bombs using six jet fighters and two Y-12 aircraft. It is understood that the airstrikes targeted the former locations of the 540th Light Infantry Battalion and the 31st Police Battalion, where the provisional government forces had established camps in Myauk U city, as well as the areas where displaced civilians were residing in the vicinity, carrying out simultaneous attacks. As a result of the aerial bombardment, four innocent civilians, who were displaced persons and flood victims, sustained moderate injuries. Additionally, three cows belonging to local residents died and five were injured. Furthermore, some nearby residential houses and buildings were also damaged. The AA has informed and urged the people in Rakhine State to be aware of the aerial threat posed by the provisional government forces and to live and travel with caution, even though it is currently the rainy season.
