Around 8 p.m., a male driver was operating a four-seater Toyota car and attempting to make a U-turn within the Giap Bat - Van Dien section of the railway, near house number 88 on Ngoc Hoi Street, Hoang Liet Ward. Upon noticing an approaching train, the driver hastily jumped out of the car. Onlookers at the scene reported that the driver ran about 50 meters to signal the train to stop but was unsuccessful. The car was hit by the train, thrown about 10 meters, and its body was almost completely crushed. As of 10 p.m., authorities were still sealing off the scene and investigating the cause of the accident. The train involved was SE19, en route to Da Nang. The locomotive sustained minor damage and resumed its journey after a 30-minute delay for repairs. Similar incidents have occurred previously. In early June, the SE19 train collided with a dump truck as it turned from National Highway 1 into a village road in Hanoi. The driver was fortunate to escape unharmed. Furthermore, in February, train SE3, traveling from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, struck a truck whose driver had crossed the tracks despite an automatic barrier lowering.
