The Shan State Hluttaw announced that the third regular session of the third Shan State Hluttaw will be held on August 13, according to a press release issued on July 21. In accordance with Article 174 of the Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Section 28 of the Region or State Hluttaw Law of 2012, and Rule 3, Sub-rule (b) of the Shan State Hluttaw Law of 2013, the third regular session of the third Shan State Hluttaw will commence at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 13, 2026 (the 15th day of the waxing moon of the second Wazo, 1388 ME) at the Shan State Hluttaw meeting hall in Taunggyi City, according to the announcement. "I think there will be about three or four motions in the upcoming Hluttaw. I will also ask four or five questions, four of which will be unstarred questions. The public's submissions are mostly on issues of education, health, village roads, and electricity," said U Aung Kyaw Nyunt, the representative of Constituency (1) of the Shan State Hluttaw from Yatsauk Township. The first regular session of the third Mon State Hluttaw was held for seven days from March 20 to April 10, and the second regular session of the third Mon State Hluttaw was held from June 9 to 12. During that Hluttaw session, 17 Hluttaw representatives asked 70 unstarred questions, and 169 unstarred questions submitted by 26 Hluttaw representatives were forwarded to the Mon State Government through the Hluttaw, it was learned. In addition, the committees formed during the recently concluded sessions of the third Mon State Hluttaw were: (1) Legislation Committee, (2) Ethnic Affairs Committee, (3) State Hluttaw Representatives Scrutiny Committee, (4) Regional Planning and Financial Expenditure Scrutiny Committee, (5) Shan State Government Guarantees, Pledges and Responsibilities Scrutiny Committee, (6) Municipal, Construction and Transportation Committee, (7) Economic and Social Affairs Committee, (8) Rule of Law, Immigration and Complaint Scrutiny Committee, (9) Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Committee, and (10) Forest, Minerals, Natural Resources, Environmental Conservation and Electricity Committee.
