To facilitate immigration procedures and the process of receiving displaced persons between Myanmar and Bangladesh, the Union Minister of Immigration and Population, U Myint Kyaing, and the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Myanmar, Dr. Mohamed Monwar Hossain, met and discussed the current status of cooperation on July 9 in Nay Pyi Taw. During the meeting, discussions were held on visa issuance procedures between Myanmar and Bangladesh, the situation at the border checkpoints of both countries, and the efforts being made by both governments to receive displaced persons from Rakhine State. Furthermore, it was learned that regarding the process, the Ministry reviewed and responded to the residency status in Myanmar based on the lists sent from Bangladesh, and exchanged views and discussed the difficulties encountered in reviewing and responding to the submitted lists, as well as the matters that need to be prepared and sent with sufficient evidence and information.
