Cambodian Ambassador to Japan H.E. Chum Sounry met with H.E. Kokudo Mori, Director-General of the International Affairs Department of Japan’s House of Councillors, in Tokyo on July 6 to discuss parliamentary cooperation, Cambodia-Japan relations, and issues of mutual interest. According to the Royal Embassy of Cambodia, during the meeting, Ambassador Chum Sounry delivered an invitation letter from Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen to H.E. Masakazu Sekiguchi, President of the House of Councillors of Japan, inviting him to attend the Second Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC-2), which Cambodia will host in Phnom Penh in August 2026. The Ambassador expressed Cambodia’s hope that President Sekiguchi would participate in the conference, noting that Japan’s presence would contribute to advancing parliamentary diplomacy, international cooperation, and the promotion of peace and stability.
