The sponsorship, coinciding with FORTÉ's 27th anniversary, underscored the company's commitment to community resilience and national development.
FORTÉ, a leading insurance company in Cambodia, has officially participated as a sponsor in the "11th Angkor Empire International Marathon," held on August 2, 2026. This internationally recognized annual marathon event brought together over 6,000 national and international runners in the historic Angkor region, celebrating resilience, cultural heritage, and the contribution of sports tourism to the local economy. Through its sponsorship of this annual marathon (42.195 km), FORTÉ has reinforced its commitment to promoting community resilience, well-being, the development of the tourism sector, and national social progress, as the company celebrates nearly three decades of presence in the insurance industry. The total number of registered participants increased from approximately 4,500 in 2025 to over 6,500 in 2026, demonstrating the growing appeal of the event both domestically and internationally. The event also saw enthusiastic participation from senior management, staff of FORTÉ Group, as well as business and bancassurance partners, who joined the races across all distances, from 3 km to 42 km. This historic sponsorship coincides with FORTÉ's 27th anniversary celebration (1999-2026) under the theme: "A Shield and a Symbol of Trusted Insurance for 27 Years in Cambodia." The marathon, a true test of resilience, discipline, and clear purpose, mirrors FORTÉ's 27-year journey in building the intangible infrastructure of financial resilience in Cambodia. Just as marathon runners push forward step by step through challenges to reach the finish line, FORTÉ has spent nearly three decades standing firm beside Cambodian families, entrepreneurs, and institutions, enabling them to pursue their dreams and goals with certainty. Speaking at the event's opening ceremony, Mr. Charles Cheo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FORTÉ Group, highlighted the profound synergy between the spirit of marathon running and FORTÉ's long-standing achievements. He noted that when they first embarked on their journey in 1999, the concept of building a financial safety net and protection in Cambodia was almost non-existent. He added that over the past 27 years, they have built historical achievements based on a foundation of trust and unwavering resilience. Mr. Cheo stated that sponsoring the Angkor Empire International Marathon is not merely a partnership but a celebration of national pride and resilience. "Just as this marathon event brings together thousands of people on the historic Khmer land, FORTÉ remains committed to being a strong driving force behind Cambodia's long-term economic growth and shared prosperity," he added. Further elaborating on this vision, Mr. Yoke Chamroeun Puthy, Chief Executive Officer of FORTÉ Group, stated: "For 27 years, FORTÉ's mission has extended beyond insurance policies. We focus on building a resilient, healthy, and prosperous nation. Sponsoring the Angkor Empire International Marathon clearly reflects our identity as the nation's financial shield. Just as runners rely on their resilience to cross the finish line, Cambodian people trust FORTÉ to protect their assets and support their dreams for the future." The event has been recognized by Forbes magazine as one of the "12 Marathon Destinations to Visit in Cambodia for 2026" and featured in AIMS World Running publications, solidifying the Angkor Empire Marathon's position on the global sports tourism map. Mr. Souy Chanthanarong, CEO of FORTÉ Insurance, highlighted the positive impact through human resources, stating that seeing over 6,000 runners tread on the historic Angkorian soil reflects the nation's vibrancy and focus on health. He emphasized, "As a company built on local talent and human resource capabilities, FORTÉ takes immense pride in supporting the local community, driving provincial business, and empowering people to move forward with confidence."
