Foreign Leaders, UN Chief Congratulate Vietnam on 81st National Day

On the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, congratulatory messages have been received from leaders of various countries and the UN Secretary-General. These messages highlight Vietnam's standing in the international community and the importance of its friendly relations and comprehensive strategic partnerships with nations worldwide. From ASEAN member states such as Brunei, Indonesia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia, there have been numerous commendations for the strengthening of bilateral relations and contributions to regional peace and stability. In particular, Vietnam's role as the host of APEC in 2027 and cooperation with Singapore, which will serve as ASEAN Chair, were mentioned, expressing expectations for deeper regional cooperation. Messages from countries in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond, including India, South Korea, New Zealand, Australia, and Canada, have acknowledged Vietnam's remarkable development and the progress of its comprehensive strategic partnerships. Australia expressed its support for Vietnam's goal of becoming a high-income country by 2045. UN Secretary-General António Guterres highly appreciated Vietnam's practical contributions to the international community and emphasized the importance of dialogue and solidarity. These congratulatory messages suggest the expansion of Vietnam's friendly relations and growing influence in the region, alongside its economic growth under a one-party system. The strengthening of ties with diverse nations is particularly noteworthy, especially as relations with China remain complex.
