Tomorrowland Thailand Set for Late 2026, Expected to Generate Over 6 Billion Baht Revenue

The iconic electronic music festival Tomorrowland Thailand, the first full-scale Asian edition set to take place at Chonburi’s Wisdom Valley during Dec. 11-13, 2026, is expected to draw 6.132 billion baht in revenue while boosting hotel bookings in Chonburi province, including Pattaya, and Rayong. Minister of Tourism and Sports Surasak Panjaroenvorakul, accompanied by Tourism Authority of Thailand Governor Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool and her team, said while visiting Belgium to discuss readiness in holding this major event with Mr. Bruno Vanwelsenaers, CEO of WEAREONE.world, that the festival is expected to attract at least 150,000 attendees, an average of 50,000 people per day. Of this total, there will be at least 22,500 Thai tourists (15%) with the remaining (85%) being foreign tourists flying in to join the spectacular festival. A breakdown shows tourists will be coming from diverse regions worldwide, including Asean countries (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia), East and South Asia (China, South Korea, India), Australia, as well as long-distance music festival fans from Europe (Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom) and the United States. These are considered high-quality tourists with strong purchasing power and a tendency of opting for long stays here. According to the event organizers’ estimates, the 6.132-billion-baht (approximately 159 million euros) this festival is projected to generate can be broken down into the following figures to clearly reflect the benefits to the Thai economy: – Direct economic boost: 1.092 billion baht (approximately 28 million euros): This represents revenue directly linked to the event being distributed to local entrepreneurs and suppliers in Thailand, covering the hiring of local production teams and service providers, personnel compensation and salaries, procurement of raw materials and food and beverage (F&B), on-site operations and management, hospitality services, and venue rental and management. – Indirect economic boost from the tourism sector: 5.309 billion baht (approximately 131 million euros): This money will be generated from spending by tourists who attend the event and extend their stay in Thailand, including spending on travel, tourism services, and restaurants. This amount is a key driver in stimulating the overall tourism industry. Estimated government tax revenue: 732 million baht From the comprehensive economic activities that occur, it is expected that the event will generate a total tax revenue of approximately 732 million baht (approximately 19 million euros) for the government, with the following key components: – Direct tax revenue: Approximately 590 million baht (81%): Value Added Tax (VAT) from tourist spending during extended stays; taxes from Tomorrowland’s event (ticket sales, F&B, and corporate income tax); personal income tax and social security contributions; withholding tax (WHT) from artists. – Indirect tax revenue: Approximately 142 million baht (19%): Corporate income tax of local companies from tourist extended stays; taxes from suppliers and service providers; personal income tax paid by employees and workers. In addition to the massive revenue and cash flow, Tomorrowland Thailand will also directly benefit the hospitality and accommodation industry. Demand for hotel and accommodation bookings around the event venue, as well as tourist areas throughout Chonburi province, including Pattaya, Jomtien, Sriracha, and Bang Saen, extending to the beaches of Rayong province, has grown significantly and attracted overwhelming interest from both Thai and international tourists. This phenomenon will have a positive impact on tourism operators, hotels, resorts, restaurants, transportation businesses, and local entrepreneurs, helping them reach their full potential. It represents a genuine injection of funds into the service sector and reinforces Thailand’s readiness to sustainably become a global festival destination, the minister added.
