Memorial Ceremony Held in Kim Lien on 57th Anniversary of Ho Chi Minh's Passing

A solemn memorial ceremony was held on September 2nd at the Kim Lien national special relic site in Nghe An province, commemorating the 57th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's passing. The day, also Vietnam's National Day, held particular significance. Attendees included Politburo member and Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc, former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, and numerous Central Committee members. Provincial Party Secretaries from Nghe An and Ha Tinh, along with a large number of people from all walks of life, gathered to honor President Ho Chi Minh's great contributions. In his eulogy, Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Khac Than affirmed that President Ho Chi Minh's life was the ultimate testament to the truth that he "lived solely for the country and the people," embodying a noble, simple life dedicated to the nation and its citizens. The moving words from the Central Committee's eulogy at President Ho Chi Minh's 1969 funeral, stating "Our nation, our people, our land gave birth to President Ho, the great national hero, and it was he who brought glory to our nation, our people, and our land," were recalled, underscoring his profound legacy. Fifty-seven years ago, on September 2, 1969, President Ho Chi Minh bid farewell to the nation. While he has departed physically, his achievements, ideology, morality, and character will endure eternally with the nation, it was stated. Secretary Than pledged that the Party, government, and people of Nghe An will continue to uphold the tradition of their heroic "Soviet" homeland, ceaselessly study and follow President Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style. They committed to unity, innovation, and creativity, strongly awakening the aspiration for development and successfully achieving socio-economic, defense, and security objectives. This, he concluded, is the most practical and meaningful way to express gratitude to the President, the ancestors, and generations of predecessors who sacrificed for the nation's independence, freedom, and the people's happiness. This commemoration serves as a crucial occasion under Vietnam's one-party system to express reverence for the founding father and reaffirm the nation's unity and commitment to development.
