A Chinese business delegation, led by the Shanghai International Association for Cooperation of Small and Medium Enterprises (SIAB), has expressed keen interest in exploring business opportunities, investments, and partnerships with Cambodian small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The commitment was conveyed during a meeting between Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and SIAB President Mr. Qian Zhenhua, accompanied by representatives from Sinopec (China) and the Cambodia National Trade and Investment Promotion Federation (CamTIPA), on the sidelines of the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai on July 17. The delegation highlighted the growing confidence among Chinese investors in Cambodia's development and praised the country's young and dynamic workforce. They also outlined plans to collaborate with Cambodian SMEs in emerging sectors such as the digital economy, renewable energy, and infrastructure, announcing a future business mission to Cambodia involving Chinese enterprises. Prime Minister Hun Manet welcomed the delegation's interest, emphasizing that SMEs are a government priority for driving economic growth, creating jobs, and strengthening domestic production. He encouraged the association and the company to work closely with relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions to explore concrete investment opportunities in the Kingdom.
