Vietnam's Southern Military Region Holds Ceremony to Honor Fallen Soldiers

On July 27, the Southern Military Region held a ceremony to commemorate War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27). Lieutenant General Nguyen Xuan Dat, Commander of the Military Region, led the event, laying flowers and incense at the Victory Monument, the Ho Chi Minh President Memorial House, and the Monument to Fallen Heroes. The ceremony was attended by Major General Chiem Thong Nhat, a member of the Central Party Committee and the Central Military Commission, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Military Region, along with leaders from the Military Region's Command, officers, and soldiers from the 226th Air Defense Artillery Brigade and the 29th Signal Brigade. In a solemn atmosphere, officers and soldiers observed a moment of silence to express their deep respect for the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed their blood and lives for the cause of national liberation and unification. They pledged to excellently fulfill military and defense missions and effectively carry out gratitude and repayment activities. Notably, they committed to successfully advancing the "500-day campaign to accelerate the search, collection, and identification of martyrs' remains" and to building the military region's armed forces into a comprehensively strong, exemplary, and representative force, ready to fight and win in all situations and successfully complete assigned tasks.
