The Mon State District No. 24 Battalion also announced yesterday (June 30) that it had no detailed knowledge of the incident and was not involved. On June 29, two small outposts of the Mon State Township People's Defence Organization (PLA) were attacked by armed groups, resulting in the deaths of five soldiers, including district PLA leader Ar Ku, and one civilian. Furthermore, a restaurant where district PLA soldiers often gathered was also attacked, resulting in the additional deaths of two civilians, according to the announcement. The announcement stated that this notification was issued because there were reports or indications of the Township PDF's involvement in these incidents, and that inquiries regarding the incident would not be answered.
