Cambodia's Ministry of Social Affairs Holds Workshop to Enhance Planning and Reporting Skills of Provincial Officials
Cambodia's Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation has launched a workshop to enhance the planning and reporting skills of administrative officials from 12 provinces and cities. The initiative aims to improve administrative efficiency and support effective policymaking.
The Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation of Cambodia launched a workshop on July 1, 2026, to enhance the planning and reporting skills of administrative officials from 12 provinces and cities. The workshop targeted officials from the Departments of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation in Phnom Penh, and Kampot, Kep, Takeo, Banteay Meanchey, Oddar Meanchey, Battambang, Pursat, Kampong Chhnang, Pailin, Preah Sihanouk, and Kampong Speu provinces. During the significant occasion, Undersecretary of State Tieu Sokun highlighted that the workshop was organized with three key objectives: First, to strengthen officials' capacity in results-based planning and quality report preparation, aiming for efficient and targeted resource management. Second, to enhance officials' ability in data collection based on the ministry's indicator metadata. Third, to bolster data analysis capabilities. Undersecretary of State Tieu Sokun further stated that planning and reporting are crucial tools and indispensable pillars for institutional management and leadership. A clear plan reflects long-term direction, while an accurate report serves as a solid foundation for leaders to review, evaluate, and make strategic decisions. He urged all participants, including department heads, deputy heads, and specialized officials, to pay close attention, absorb knowledge, and actively engage in discussions during the three-day workshop to ensure they fully acquire the competencies to lead and prepare plans and reports effectively and efficiently within their respective units. Concurrently, this workshop serves as a response to the requests made by specialized officials last year, aiming to further cultivate, refine, and strengthen their work capabilities.
