Cambodia-Malaysia Bilateral Cooperation Strengthened Following Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn's Visit

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, Prak Sokhonn, made an official visit to Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, to attend the 3rd Cambodia-Malaysia Joint Commission Meeting on Bilateral Cooperation. This meeting served as a crucial opportunity to further develop the close ties between Cambodia and Malaysia. During the meeting, consensus was reached on strengthening cooperation in a wide range of sectors, including economy, trade, investment, tourism, security, culture, education, and human resource development. In particular, concrete measures to increase trade volume and expand investment opportunities between the two countries were discussed. Cambodia welcomes investment from Malaysia, with particular expectations for investment in infrastructure development and the manufacturing sector. Cooperation to promote tourist exchanges between the two countries was also confirmed in the tourism sector. In terms of security, enhanced cooperation in counter-terrorism and border management was discussed, which is expected to contribute to the stability and safety of the entire region. Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn also held a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, reaffirming the importance of bilateral relations. Both leaders agreed to advance cooperation towards maintaining peace and stability in the ASEAN region. This visit is expected to deepen the strategic partnership between Cambodia and Malaysia and lead to concrete outcomes that benefit the peoples of both nations.
