Da Nang Narrows Regional Development Gap Through Digital Transformation

Da Nang City, a major urban center in central Vietnam, is accelerating digital transformation (DX) and administrative reforms to narrow the development gap between regions. In particular, efforts are being made to implement DX and practical administrative reforms in the mountainous areas under the city's jurisdiction. This policy aims to concretize Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW adopted by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam. It seeks to improve convenience for residents and businesses through the development of digital infrastructure and the streamlining of administrative procedures. This is expected to improve access to administrative services and revitalize the regional economy. Recognizing that the advancement of DX is indispensable for regional development, Da Nang City is promoting its adoption in various fields. Examples include the application of science and technology in firefighting and disaster prevention, and the online processing of administrative procedures. Model projects are also being implemented to support the use of digital technology in local communities, contributing to the improvement of residents' digital literacy. These initiatives are part of Vietnam's overall DX strategy and are positioned as a national priority aimed at accelerating economic growth and improving the quality of life for its citizens.
