The temporary ban applies to trucks with a payload of 500 kg or more and buses with 16 seats or more, excluding public buses, garbage trucks, breakdown service vehicles, and those with security permits. Private cars and motorcycles will have their circulation restricted on these routes. To alleviate congestion, Hanoi Police have provided traffic diversion routes. Vehicles traveling from the east and northeast (Gia Lam, Long Bien) to the west and (Dong Da, western city areas) and vice versa are advised to use Nhat Tan Bridge, Vinh Tuy Bridge, or Thanh Tri Bridge, then follow routes like De 401, Yen Phu, Thanh Nien, or Ring Road 3. Vehicles traveling from the north (Tay Ho, Dong Anh) to the south (Hoang Mai, Thanh Tri) and vice versa are guided to use Nhat Tan Bridge or Thang Long Bridge, then travel along Vo Chi Cong, Pham Van Dong, Ring Road 2, or Ring Road 3.
