P427,000 Worth of Smuggled Cigarettes Seized in Sultan Kudarat

Police seized P427,850 worth of suspected smuggled cigarettes from a copra dryer in Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat, early Wednesday. The Police Regional Office 12 (PRO 12) said boxes of suspected smuggled cigarettes were seized in Sitio Bakung, Barangay Kolong-Kolong, by the Palimbang police station at around 1:40 a.m., following a tip. The operation is part of the intensified campaign of the Philippine National Police against smuggling. Authorities are now investigating the origin and distribution network of the seized cigarettes.
