Two victims of 4-story house fire in Nha Trang die

Two women, aged 74 and 42, identified as mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, have died following a house fire in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province, on September 2. According to Khanh Hoa General Hospital, both victims were brought to the facility in critical condition, suffering from CO poisoning and second-degree burns. Medical teams performed resuscitation efforts for approximately 20 minutes, after which their heartbeats returned. They were transferred to specialized departments for further treatment, including mechanical ventilation and nutritional support. However, the 42-year-old woman's condition deteriorated, and her family requested to take her home for palliative care, where she later passed away. The 74-year-old victim, who had a history of stroke, also did not survive and died on the afternoon of September 3. The fire reportedly began around noon on September 2 on the second floor of a 4-story house, approximately 100 square meters in size, located in the An Binh Tan urban area, near Ring Road 2 and Binh Tan Bridge. Flames spread quickly, and smoke enveloped the entire house within minutes. At the time of the incident, six people were inside, including young children. Four individuals on the first floor managed to escape on their own, while the two women on the second floor became trapped. Firefighters, in coordination with medical staff from the Khanh Hoa 115 Emergency Center, used specialized equipment to access and rescue the two victims. The fire was extinguished approximately five minutes after their rescue. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire and suspect an electrical short circuit may be responsible. Leaders from the Nam Nha Trang Ward People's Committee visited the families to offer condolences and provided financial support of VND 50 million.
