Ho Chi Minh City-Tay Ninh Expressway Section Opens, Boosting Western Gateway Development

The Luong Hoa - Binh Chanh Expressway, a vital artery connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh Province, has officially opened for traffic over its approximately 4.5 km section. This new infrastructure is poised to significantly boost the development of urban and industrial zones located at the city's western gateway. The expressway was jointly invested and built by two enterprises, Prodezi Long An and Tandoland, with a total capital of around 1,250 billion VND (approximately $50 million USD). Spanning nearly 4.5 km with a 60-meter-wide right-of-way, the road connects the provincial road 830 to the boundary of the former Binh Chanh district. Its completion after more than two years of construction is set to enhance the region's transportation network. At the opening ceremony, Huynh Thien Quan, a representative from Prodezi Long An Joint Stock Company, stated that the expressway is crucial infrastructure that will considerably shorten travel time from Luong Hoa to Ho Chi Minh City and its central urban areas. This, he explained, will facilitate smoother trade and commerce, thereby driving development in the urban and industrial regions. Le Van Loc, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Luong Hoa Commune, remarked that the project will help the locality better organize traffic, allocate residential areas, services, and production activities, ultimately improving the quality of life for its residents. Meanwhile, Nguyen Thai Binh, representing Tandoland Joint Stock Company, assessed that the Luong Hoa - Binh Chanh Expressway not only reduces travel time but also creates conditions for the formation of new growth poles in the western gateway of Ho Chi Minh City. He added that improved transportation infrastructure will enhance real estate values by increasing accessibility and attracting both residents and businesses. Data from the Batdongsan platform indicates that as of the first quarter, apartment prices in the former Ben Luc area averaged around 35 million VND per square meter, with house and villa prices around 40 million VND. These prices are lower than those in Ho Chi Minh City proper, offering an advantage in attracting owner-occupiers and creating growth potential for the western region of the city. Along this new expressway, several urban and industrial projects are under development, covering an area of approximately 1,000 hectares. Notable among these are the LA Home ecological urban area (100 ha), Dragon Eden urban-industrial area (nearly 150 ha), Prodezi ecological industrial park (400 ha), and Tandoland industrial park (250 ha). Representatives from the developers believe the completed road will create synergistic effects, enabling residents and businesses in the adjacent urban and industrial zones to commute to Ho Chi Minh City more conveniently. Furthermore, it provides better access to key transportation routes such as the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway, Ring Road 3, Ring Road 4, and the extended Vo Van Kiet Street. This infrastructure also plays a role in increasing the attractiveness for production activities and investment. With two industrial parks along the route, goods transportation times will be reduced, giving businesses a logistics advantage, while workers will benefit from more convenient commutes between their homes and workplaces. This development fosters a mutually supportive ecosystem. As industrial parks become operational, demand for housing and commercial services is expected to rise. Conversely, well-developed urban areas will help meet the housing needs of experts and workers. "Infrastructure is a key factor that many businesses consider when choosing investment locations, especially as the western region is becoming a new destination for industrial capital," shared a leader from Prodezi Long An. Currently, projects along the expressway are in the construction phase, with many aiming for handover and operation within this year. Representatives from Prodezi Long An and Tandoland expressed their hope that the infrastructure development will provide further momentum for the region's economic and urban growth, aligning with the province's goal of achieving double-digit growth.
