PLN and Metro Jaya Police Enhance Security of Jakarta's Power Assets

JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) UID Jakarta Raya strengthens security of electricity assets with the Polda Metro Jaya to reduce the potential for disruptions that can affect the reliability of electricity supply in Jakarta. The strengthening of coordination was discussed in a meeting between the General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta Raya Moch. Andy Adchaminoerdin with the Director of Security of Vital Objects of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Twedi Aditya Bennyahdi, Thursday, September 10. The meeting discussed the security of substations, networks, and electrical facilities that fall into the category of vital objects. Polda Metro Jaya also reviewed the Distribution Control Center or DCC PLN UID Jakarta Raya to see the monitoring and control system of the network. Andy said asset protection was an important part of maintaining the continuity of electricity supply, especially since Jakarta had economic activities and public services with high electricity needs. "Electricity is an essential need for the people and economic activities of Jakarta. To maintain its reliability, we not only ensure the readiness of networks and systems, but also ensure that electricity assets are protected," said Andy. According to Andy, cooperation with the police is directed at preventing and responding to potential security disturbances around PLN facilities. "Synergy with the Police is an important part of PLN's preventive efforts," he said. Twedi said that securing vital objects requires direct coordination between facility managers and security personnel. "Electricity has a strategic role in supporting people's lives and economic activities. Therefore, synergy with PLN is important to ensure the safety of electricity objects and assets," said Twedi. PLN and the Metro Jaya Police will then strengthen coordination to secure electrical infrastructure spread across various areas of Jakarta. PLN also reminds the public not to enter the area of the substation, network, or electrical facilities without permission. Suspicious activities around PLN assets can be reported via PLN Mobile or PLN Contact Center 123. Security is strengthened to reduce the risk of disruption due to damage, theft, and illegal activities that have the potential to disrupt electricity services to the community.
