Bank Jakarta Disburses Rp48 Billion to Kramat Jati Market Traders
Bank Jakarta has disbursed approximately IDR 48 billion in financing to 167 traders at the Kramat Jati Central Wholesale Market. This initiative aims to support traders' business continuity and stimulate economic activity, particularly by expanding access to capital through programs like KUR.
Bank Jakarta has disbursed financing of around IDR 48 billion to 167 traders at the Kramat Jati Central Market. Most recently, as many as 100 traders have again participated in mass credit agreements through the People's Business Credit (KUR) and Non-KUR credit programs with a financing ceiling of up to IDR 500 million. Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno, who attended the activity, stated that access to capital is crucial for traders to maintain the sustainability of their businesses. "Today, we are expanding access to financing for traders in the Kramat Jati wholesale market. This is very important because traders need working capital certainty to maintain business continuity," Rano said on Tuesday, September 1. According to Rano, this capital support is expected to increase the business capacity of traders amidst trading activities at the Kramat Jati Central Market, which is home to over 5,000 business actors. He also expressed hope for a continued increase in the number of traders utilizing Bank Jakarta's financing facilities. However, Rano cautioned that access to credit must be accompanied by financial management capabilities to prevent traders' businesses from being burdened. "There will definitely be a dialogue between the bank and traders to help each other manage so that the business can grow. Hopefully, this program can be developed in other markets," Rano added. Bank Jakarta President Director Agus H. Widodo explained that the financing for traders at the Kramat Jati Central Market is provided through KUR and non-KUR schemes. Under the KUR program, traders can access unsecured financing with a loan ceiling of up to IDR 100 million. Meanwhile, through the Non-KUR scheme, traders can use their trading platform as collateral to obtain financing up to IDR 500 million. "We don't want traders who are busy looking for banks. Bank Jakarta has to get closer and be present in the midst of traders," Agus said. He emphasized that the disbursement of credit is not merely about pursuing financing values. According to him, the success of the program should be measured by the development of traders' businesses after obtaining additional capital. "For Bank Jakarta, success is not measured by how much credit is disbursed. The real success is when financing makes business traders grow, sales increase, jobs are created, and more and more Jakarta MSMEs rise in class," he concluded.
