Man Surrenders to Police After Dragging Dog 2 Kilometers

Residents in Lampang are in shock following a cruel act where a dog was dragged for approximately two kilometers behind a motorcycle. The injured dog, named Tang Tang, was found abandoned near the bustling Asawin Market. Market vendors discovered Tang Tang covered in blood and immediately alerted municipal workers. The dog was rushed to a local animal hospital for urgent care, with market staff contributing to the vet bills. Following the incident, CCTV footage showing the ordeal surfaced online. Mr. Natchakhet, the dog's owner, broke down in tears upon seeing the clip and subsequently reported the incident to the Mueang Lampang Police Station. On the afternoon of August 7, a 57-year-old food vendor, identified as Uncle San, surrendered to the authorities. He claimed the act was not intentional, attributing it to panic stemming from a past dog bite. He stated he was unaware the dog was chained to his motorcycle and believed it was simply running behind him. Uncle San explained that he passes the owner's house daily and had seen Tang Tang before, but the dog had never chased him. He insisted he panicked when he saw the dog and drove away, fearing it might bite him. He also claimed he did not realize the dog was being dragged until he parked at the market. However, Mr. Natchakhet expressed skepticism, arguing that a 43-kilogram dog would create a noticeable drag and weight for any motorcycle rider. He is trusting the legal system to uncover the truth and deliver justice. Police have detained Uncle San for further questioning and are awaiting Mr. Natchakhet's official statement to proceed with legal charges.
