Union Minister of Education Dr. Cho Cho Sein has announced that Myanmar's basic education history will be compiled. The minister made this statement at the coordination meeting for the compilation of Myanmar's basic education history, held at the Ministry of Education in Nay Pyi Taw on August 3. The Union Minister stated that the Ministry of Education will compile Myanmar's basic education history with the aim of enabling future generations to understand and value Myanmar's educational history and cultural heritage, to be able to firmly present historical records from different eras, and to be able to experience and feel the historical events that have made Myanmar great. It was learned that at the meeting, Deputy Minister Dr. Zaw Myint, U Nay Myo Hlaing, senior historians from the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and Cultural Affairs, and senior history professors from universities discussed the status of the feudal era's education system, the changes in the colonial era's education system, and the status of Myanmar's education system after independence, in order to write and compile the history of education.
