Vietnamese President Meets World Leaders at UN General Assembly

Vietnamese President To Lam held separate meetings with the President of Fiji, Ratu Lalabavalu, the Prime Minister of Thailand, Anutin Charnvirakul, and the Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese, in New York on September 22 (local time). The meetings took place on the sidelines of the President's attendance at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly and bilateral activities in the United States. President To Lam also attended the opening of the high-level general debate of the 81st UN General Assembly. He also received a medal from the American Foreign Policy Association. While maintaining its one-party system and pursuing economic growth, Vietnam has been actively engaging in skillful diplomacy, particularly in managing its relations with neighboring China and building ties with Western nations including the United States. These meetings at the UN General Assembly represent a significant opportunity for Vietnam to enhance its international standing and pursue its national interests.
