Cambodia: Kratie Province Cracks Down on 3 Drug Trafficking Cases, Arrests 3 Suspects

In Kratie Province, northeastern Cambodia, three cases involving drug trafficking and use were busted in September, leading to the arrest of three suspects. According to the Kratie Provincial Gendarmerie, a joint team comprising provincial specialized forces and the 709th Gendarmerie Operational Post conducted operations in the jurisdiction of Snoul District. Colonel Yean Channarith, Chief of the Investigation and Suppression of Offenses Office at the 709th Gendarmerie Operational Post, reported that during these operations, three cases of illegal drug possession, trafficking, and use were cracked down upon, resulting in the arrest of three suspects. Seized evidence included numerous large and small packages of white crystalline substances suspected to be illicit drugs. The three arrested suspects are identified as: 1) Vey Pheng Srey, male, 31 years old, Cambodian, residing in Sen Aphivoth village, Khtum Sen Chey commune, Snoul district, Kratie province, a farmer by occupation. 2) Nak Net, male, 33 years old, Cambodian, residing in Khtum Krao village, Khtum commune, Snoul district, Kratie province, a plantation worker by occupation. 3) Prom Seng Huy, male, 40 years old, Cambodian, residing in Sre Char commune, Snoul district, Kratie province, a farmer by occupation. Currently, the suspects along with the seized evidence have been processed into a case file and sent to the Kratie Provincial Court for legal proceedings.
