Junta Kills One Man with Suicide Drone and Artillery Attack on Village in Nanmehkhon Township

A village in Nanmehkhon Township was attacked by the junta with a suicide drone shelling on September 14, at around 3 p.m. The attack killed a man about 40 years old, according to residents. The village was reportedly struck by two suicide drones as well as one round of heavy artillery fire. A local man from the area said, “It hit near a fuel station. It was around 3:30. The person who was injured was hit in the head and arm,”. Residents said there had been no junta drone or aircraft reconnaissance activity in Nanmehkhon Township in the days before the attack. The Mobye People’s Defense Force (PDF) has warned people not to travel on roads connecting the western side of Mobye to the Nanmehkhon side of the Shan-Karenni border area due to frequent clashes between resistance forces and the junta in Mobye, which borders Nanmehkhon Township. This September, aerial and drone bombing attacks by the junta have killed at least 10 civilians, including young children, in Nanmehkhon Township, the Maw Chi area of Hpasaung Township, and Hsomo PraySoeLay (Shadaw) Township in Karenni State.
