Cambodia Prepares for International Day of Indigenous Peoples
Cambodia's Ministry of Rural Development held a preparatory meeting for the upcoming 32nd International Day of Indigenous Peoples. PHNOM PENH, July 8, 2026 -- On Wednesday afternoon, July 8, 2026, at the Ministry of Rural Development's headquarters, His Excellency Dr. Chai Rithy Sann, Minister of Rural Development, led a meeting to review and discuss preparations for the 32nd International Day of Indigenous Peoples and the 22nd observance in Cambodia. The meeting was attended by Excellencies, Ladies, and Gentlemen, leaders of the Ministry, as well as leaders and technical officials from the Department of Indigenous Peoples Development. His Excellency the Minister stated that to contribute to the promotion of indigenous peoples, as well as to disseminate their diverse cultures, customs, and traditions, and to provide opportunities for indigenous peoples to participate in national social development, the Ministry of Rural Development, as the staff agency of the Royal Government, is paying great attention to the development and preservation of indigenous peoples to achieve progress in all sectors.
