Notification to donate flood relief funds only to official organizations

The Ayeyarwady Region Government has issued a notification urging donors who wish to contribute to the relief of citizens affected by the current flood disaster to contact and donate directly to official organizations and camps. It is reported that instances of fraudulent fundraising are being observed, using the pretext of flood relief to solicit funds through dishonest means. The notification states that if the money and supplies donated with pure intentions by donors do not actually reach the affected citizens and instead fall into the hands of fraudsters, their effectiveness will be diminished. Therefore, to ensure that the support and aid donated by donors reach the affected areas systematically and as quickly as possible, it has been notified that donations should be made directly to the offices of the Department of Disaster Management, the headquarters of the Myanmar Red Cross Society and its township branches, the General Administration Department offices at the region, state, district, and township levels, flood relief and rescue camps established by the government, and ward/village administrator offices.
