Vietnam, RoK Boost Strategic Cadre Training Cooperation

A delegation from the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) is paying a working visit to the Republic of Korea (RoK) from September 20-22 to strengthen cooperation in public governance, digital government, and the training of Vietnamese leaders and managers, particularly strategic-level cadres, to meet national development requirements in a new phase. This visit is part of efforts to deepen the strategic partnership between Vietnam and the RoK, providing an opportunity to further enhance collaboration in human resource development. The HCMA aims to learn from South Korea's advanced public administration systems and digitalization experiences to improve the capabilities of Vietnam's leaders and managers. The development of strategic personnel, who will bear the responsibility for the nation's future, is considered crucial for achieving the economic growth and social development goals set by the Communist Party of Vietnam. Vietnam has achieved remarkable economic growth in recent years, but securing personnel with advanced expertise and an international perspective is an urgent task for its sustainable development. South Korea, as one of the world's leaders in digitalization and high-tech industries, is a key partner for Vietnam to collaborate with. The ongoing cooperation between the two countries in semiconductors and electronics, coupled with the enhanced cadre training, could potentially lead to future advancements in these sectors. Under Vietnam's one-party system, the quality of the Party and state leadership directly impacts the nation's policy-making and execution capabilities, making the development of strategic cadres a critically important issue. Through collaboration with South Korea, Vietnam seeks to advance leadership development in line with international standards, aiming for more effective national governance.
