Myanmar to promote ASEAN-China cooperation

Vice President U Nyo Saw, who is in Nanning City, China, attended and delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the 23rd China-ASEAN Expo and the 23rd China-ASEAN Economic and Investment Summit held at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center on the morning of September 17 (local time). He stated that Myanmar will continue to promote cooperation between ASEAN and China. He further stated that the China-ASEAN EXPO is not only an exhibition that promotes trade and investment between China and ASEAN member states, but also an important platform for building trust, seeking economic opportunities, exchanging technology and experience, and promoting friendly relations among peoples. Regarding trade and investment, he said that new areas under the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area-ACFTA 3.0, such as the digital economy, green economy, supply chains, competition, and consumer protection, will further open up investment and trade opportunities and promote free, fair, and mutually beneficial trade. Vice President U Nyo Saw stated that Myanmar will continue to strengthen its "brotherly" relations with China and continue to promote cooperation between ASEAN and China based on ASEAN's centrality, equality, and mutual benefit. Afterward, Vice President U Nyo Saw, along with ASEAN leaders and invited countries, attended and delivered a speech at the China-ASEAN Economic Leaders Forum of the 23rd China-ASEAN Economic and Investment Summit. Subsequently, Vice President U Nyo Saw, along with delegates, attended and inaugurated the exhibition booth of Bago City, a charming city of Myanmar, held at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center, and toured and supported the exhibition booths of Myanmar and ASEAN countries. It is reported that at the 23rd China-ASEAN Expo, Myanmar is exhibiting agricultural products, handicrafts, and gemstones at 81 booths, while China and ASEAN member states have opened over 1,000 booths to display their respective products.
