Kampong Cham Governor Inspects Water Pumping Station and Irrigation System

Kampong Cham Governor, H.E. Un Chantha, on September 13, 2026, led a working group of relevant technical officials and local authorities to inspect the Prek Pou pumping station in Srey Santhor District and various irrigation systems within the district's geography. The inspection aimed to assess the actual situation and the feasibility of supplying water to residents for consumption and agricultural production. According to Mr. Chhit Chan, President of the Water User Farmers' Community, the Prek Pou pumping station is equipped with seven water pumps, capable of supplying water to residents in seven communes and 37 villages in Srey Santhor District, Kampong Cham Province, as well as two communes in Krosach Kandal District, Prey Veng Province. He stated that the pumping system can supply water for irrigation covering a total agricultural land area of approximately 8,000 hectares, thereby facilitating cultivation and improving the livelihoods of residents in the affected areas. During the inspection, H.E. Un Chantha paid close attention to the condition of the pumping station and the irrigation system, focusing on ensuring efficiency in pumping and water distribution to meet the needs of the residents, especially in the agricultural sector.
