Quang Tri Launches Digital Literacy Volunteer Team for Border Areas

A "Digital Education Team for Border Areas" comprising young volunteers has been launched in Quang Tri Province, central Vietnam. This initiative aims to accelerate the digitalization drive within the province. On August 6, the Standing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union held a ceremony, combining online and in-person formats, to establish the volunteer team. The team consists of 33 officials and youth union members who possess in-depth expertise in IT and are proficient in online skills. Tran Thi Thu, Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union, emphasized that the formation of the team is a concrete implementation of the policy to promote digital transformation and leverage the pioneering and voluntary role of youth in supporting residents in border areas facing difficult situations and new challenges. She urged the team to stay close to the locality, accurately grasp the needs of the people, and, following the "hand-in-hand guidance" approach, focus on instructing practical skills such as smartphone operation, online public services, electronic identification, cashless payments, and cybersecurity. She also instructed them to continuously update their knowledge of digital platforms, artificial intelligence, and information security to enhance the effectiveness of on-site support. Ngo Viet Phuong Nhung, representing the team, stated that although the mission is challenging and new, driven by their responsibility as young people for the community, she and the team members will proactively coordinate with local Youth Union organizations to effectively implement support activities aimed at improving the digital capacity of youth and residents in border areas. Secretary Tran Thi Thu further expressed that through the establishment of this volunteer team, the Provincial Youth Union will continue to enhance its role in participating in digital transformation, gradually bringing digital platforms and utilities closer to the people, and contributing to the effective fulfillment of the province's economic and social development and digital transformation tasks.
