Vietnam, Algeria Parties Vow to Strengthen Ties

The Communist Party of Vietnam and the National Liberation Front (FLN) of Algeria are moving to strengthen their ties. On September 21, Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria Vu Duy Long paid a courtesy call on FLN Secretary-General Abdelkrim Benmbarek as part of his introductory visits in the country. During the meeting, Secretary-General Benmbarek emphasized that the relations between the two countries and the two parties are built on a deep historical foundation, forged during the struggles for independence and freedom of both nations. He reaffirmed the importance of continuing to strengthen friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between the two parties based on the signed cooperation agreement, stating that this contributes to promoting relations between the two countries and peoples. Secretary-General Benmbarek also shared some insights into the current situation and operational direction of the Algerian FLN. On his part, Ambassador Long expressed gratitude for the cordial reception from the Algerian FLN and pledged to do his utmost during his tenure to consolidate the traditional friendly relations between the two countries and peoples, as well as the close relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the FLN. Ambassador Long congratulated the FLN on its achievements in the recent legislative elections and expressed confidence that the FLN will continue to build on its successes and achieve victory in the local elections scheduled for November 28. On this occasion, Ambassador Long also informed about Vietnam's major development orientations following the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. He expressed the desire for both sides to continue enhancing information exchange, mutual delegation visits, sharing of party work experiences, and effective implementation of the cooperation agreement between the two parties. Furthermore, Ambassador Long conveyed greetings from the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and expressed his hope to soon welcome Secretary-General Benmbarek and an FLN delegation to Vietnam. This diplomatic engagement exemplifies the deepening international cooperation between communist parties under Vietnam's one-party system. Vietnam prioritizes relations with traditional friendly nations, seeking to strengthen the foundation of state-to-state relations through exchanges at the party level. This can be seen as part of Vietnam's strategy to expand its influence on the international stage while maintaining its unique diplomatic approach. Strengthening ties with African countries like Algeria, in particular, can contribute to securing resources and markets that support Vietnam's economic growth, as well as enhance its international voice.
