Pailin Province Accelerates Development of Sen Sok Waterfall Area to Boost Tourism and Local Economy

Pailin Province in western Cambodia is accelerating the development of the Sen Sok Waterfall area. On July 25, 2026, Ms. Ban Sreymom, Governor of Pailin Province, accompanied by technical officials, inspected the progress of infrastructure improvements aimed at enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the Sen Sok Waterfall. This initiative seeks to bolster the province's tourism sector, thereby contributing to economic growth and the daily livelihoods of its residents. Governor Ban Sreymom stated that the Cambodian government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, is continuously striving to address the difficulties faced by the people and to develop the nation in all aspects, particularly in constructing physical infrastructure such as roads, bridges, schools, and hospitals. Currently, the Pailin Provincial Administration is focused on improving public infrastructure, including tree planting, beautifying gardens, and enhancing public spaces. These efforts are intended to meet the public's demands for a better environment and health, add green belts to the city, and create a beautiful and attractive landscape to draw more national and international tourists to Pailin Province, ultimately contributing to economic growth and improving the living standards of the people. During the occasion, the Governor also appealed to the public and all relevant sectors to jointly clean the areas in front of their homes and businesses regularly. She specifically urged vendors operating in public spaces and gardens to properly package their waste and dispose of it correctly, emphasizing that indiscriminate littering in public areas is unacceptable. It is noted that the Pailin Provincial Authorities are currently constructing an additional library building and a large statue of the Buddha subduing Mara at the Sen Sok Waterfall site, located in Boeung Prelit village, Stueng Kach commune, Salakrau district, Pailin province.
