Vietnam's Independence Day Celebrated with Giant National Flag in Ca Mau

On September 2nd, as Vietnam celebrated its Independence Day, a solemn and proud atmosphere filled the air at the Hanoi Flagpole Monument in Cape of Camau, the southernmost point of the country. On this day, a grand ceremony was held to hoist and officially recognize the giant national flag, certified by the Vietnam Record Organization (VietKings) as 'Vietnam's Largest Fabric National Flag.' The ceremony was attended by leaders of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee, along with representatives from various departments, the armed forces, religious dignitaries, youth, students, and approximately 1,500 citizens. Officials from VietKings, including its Vice Chairman and Secretary-General, also attended. Amidst a solemn atmosphere, participants performed the flag-raising ritual. Against the backdrop of vast mangrove forests, the majestic melody of the national anthem 'Tien Quan Ca' echoed, as the national flag fluttered powerfully at the southernmost tip of the nation, creating a sacred moment that ignited national pride and unity. The certified flag is made of super-durable fabric, spanning 2,025 square meters and weighing approximately 320 kilograms. It was designed and executed by SG Chien Thang Investment, Import-Export, Trade, and Service Joint Stock Company. The square at Cape of Camau was bathed in the vibrant red of the flag under the dawn sunlight. Hundreds of youth union members and armed forces personnel held the record-breaking flag aloft, creating a magnificent spectacle symbolizing the great national unity and the inviolable sovereignty at the southern extremity of Vietnam. This event not only marked a proud historical milestone commemorating the 80th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's reading of the Declaration of Independence but also showcased the new vitality and development of the southernmost region. The giant flag has been featured in numerous major events as part of the 'Vietnam Journey' project (2025-2027), including the Lotus Village Festival in Nghe An Province, the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh, and the 80th National Day celebrations in Hanoi. According to Mr. Duong Duy Lam Vien, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of VietKings, the presence of the flag at Cape of Camau is not only a special milestone in the journey of a record but also a journey connecting sacred lands of the Fatherland, from Bac's homeland to Hanoi and now to Cape of Camau. 'After the ceremony, the national flag will continue to fly at sacred historical sites across the country. By the end of 2027, after the journey concludes, the grand flag will be officially presented to Ca Mau Province and displayed at the Mui Ca Mau National Park for visitors,' Mr. Vien shared. Furthermore, to honor heroes and compatriots who sacrificed for the nation, VietKings proposed the record for 'Vietnam's Largest National Grand Flag Ever' with an area of 2,025 square meters, which was presented to the Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee.
