AYEYARWADDY TIMES (Karenni), September 15 It is known that the Military Council, under the interim government, has been conducting operations involving airstrikes in various forms in the Karenni region during August and September. This morning, September 15, the military also carried out bombing attacks with two fighter jets in a location west of Deemawso in Karenni State. It is also known that in the airstrike conducted in the Nanme Khone area on September 14, one civilian died and two houses were destroyed. “Recently, drone bombings, Su-30 drone bombings, and aircraft bombings have become quite frequent. Based on some of our data, we know that the military will be increasing bombing attacks with aircraft this month. The main reason is that we have heard that an operation is planned for a period of 60 to 90 days,” said Banyar Khun Aung, Secretary-2 of the Karenni State Interim Executive Council (IEC), to Ayeyarwaddy Times. Currently, the interim government is also conducting ground offensives, and ground clashes are occurring. It is also known that attacks are being carried out against local residents with airstrikes, heavy artillery, and drone bombs. On September 5, a bombing attack with 200-pound bombs was carried out on Naung Pula village in the eastern part of Loikaw, and machine-gun fire was also directed from the aircraft, resulting in the deaths of four local residents, including two children. Furthermore, on September 1, the interim government's forces carried out airstrikes on the Mawkchi region, resulting in the deaths of six local residents, including children, and injuring nine others. It is known from the Karenni Human Rights Group (KnHRG) that the Military Council's forces also carried out airstrikes, heavy artillery attacks, and killings against civilians in Karenni State in August, resulting in the deaths of nine civilians and injuries to 43 others.
