Poipet Province Welcomes Senate Committee for Discussions on Development and Public Service Efficiency

On the morning of September 3, 2026, at the Tep Oknhar Khling Muong meeting hall in the provincial hall, Poipet Province warmly welcomed a delegation from the Senate Committee No. 9, led by its chairman, Oknhar Um Sarith. The delegation's visit was part of a mission to understand the progress of provincial administration, law enforcement, and the challenges faced in local development. Oknhar Koy Rida, Governor of Poipet Province, expressed his sincere gratitude and warmest welcome to the Senate delegation. He highlighted numerous significant achievements the province has made under the astute leadership of the Prime Minister, in line with the "Pentagon Strategy Phase 1." Key accomplishments reported by the provincial administration included: * Riverbank development, the organization of orderly settlements for residents, a tree-planting campaign resulting in over 110,000 trees, the installation of solar streetlights along public roads from the Kampong Chhnang border to Battambang, and street pavement improvements. * The planning of the "Tep Oknhar Khling Muong" garden and the construction of the "Win-Win Monument" in Lolek Sa Sangkat, aimed at commemorating ancestors and attracting tourists. * The "Cow Farm for Milk and Meat" project (1,000 hectares) and a "Biomass Power Plant" (50MW), "Solar Power Plant" (40MW), along with other processing factories by KPS company (5,000 hectares) in Vael Veng district. * The province hosts six power generation stations (three hydropower and three solar). It has eleven major factories with an investment exceeding $163 million, creating over 6,000 jobs for residents, and nearly 300 small and medium-sized enterprises. * Land titles have been distributed to over 330,000 residents across the province, and land registration in Zone 1 and Zone 2 of the Tonle Sap Lake area continues. In response, Oknhar Um Sarith, Chairman of Committee No. 9 of the Senate, expressed his profound thanks for the warm reception and the detailed report provided by the Poipet Provincial Administration. He clarified that the current mission aims to inspect and monitor the implementation of laws and to understand the practical situation of public service delivery to citizens within the committee's purview. Oknhar Um Sarith praised and highly valued the efforts of the Poipet Provincial Administration leadership under Oknhar Koy Rida, noting the province's rapid transformation, ensuring security, public order, and remarkable economic-social development. The Senate Chairman also offered several constructive recommendations to the provincial administration and relevant departments, urging them to continue strengthening law enforcement, improving the efficiency of public service delivery, and responding promptly to the needs of local residents. The working meeting concluded in a friendly atmosphere with fruitful outcomes. The Senate delegation recorded all requests and challenges for compilation and reporting to the Senate leadership, with the goal of supporting and further promoting the development of Poipet Province in the future.
