Khanh Hoa Province Strengthens Fresh Durian Export Management to China

Khanh Hoa Province, located in south-central Vietnam, has directed relevant agencies to enhance the management of fresh durian exports destined for the Chinese market. This initiative aims to ensure the accuracy and completeness of origin information and traceability data for exported durians. Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, has instructed all departments, localities, organizations, and individuals to rigorously manage and update data related to the origin of exported durians. Specifically, they are to verify, standardize, and connect data on planting area codes, packing facility codes, manager information, validity status, and recognition by the importing market. The province mandates the use of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development's direct traceability system as a shared platform for data management and connection. This aims to establish a "one-time declaration, multiple uses" system, preventing duplicate administrative procedures or redundant reporting. Communes and wards are tasked with promoting the management and dissemination of planting area codes and packing facility codes necessary for official exports (chính ngạch). Localities must also strengthen inspections of the conditions maintained at planting areas and packing facilities, promptly identifying and rectifying any instances of code misuse, fraud, or unauthorized use. The Provincial Police are ordered to enhance intelligence gathering to detect signs of falsified production volumes, illegal use or impersonation of planting area codes, and the legitimization of fraudulent origins. Based on this, strict legal action will be taken against violations related to planting area codes and packing facility codes within their authority. Khanh Hoa Province requires each batch of fresh durian exported to China to possess complete, accurate, and continuously traceable records, allowing for verification back to the planting area, packing facility, involved parties, and relevant processing stages. Currently, Khanh Hoa has 21 durian growing areas approved for export to China, concentrated in the three communes of Dong Khanh Son, Khanh Son, and Tay Khanh Son. Additionally, two facilities for collecting and packing durians for export are located in Suoi Dau Industrial Park, Cam Lam commune, and Bac Cam Ranh ward, with a combined daily processing capacity of 100 tons. Statistics show that in the first seven months of 2026, Khanh Hoa officially exported 8,140 tons of fresh durian to China.
