A traffic accident involving a car and a public street lighting (PJU) pole occurred on Jalan Ir H Djuanda, also known as Dago, in Bandung City, West Java, on Sunday (July 12, 2026) morning around 5:00 AM WIB. The gray minibus, with license plate D 1884 AJK, veered onto the road divider and struck a PJU pole, causing it to collapse onto the road. Photos received by detikJabar show the vehicle sustained severe damage to its front end. Both headlights were broken, the hood was crushed, the windshield was damaged, and the car's roof was dented. The incident is currently under investigation by the Unit Gakkum (Criminal Investigation Unit) of the Satlantas (Traffic Unit) of the Bandung City Police. "Officers are already at the crime scene," said Head of Unit Gakkum, AKP Fiekry Adi Perdana, via short message. Perdana stated that the car carried seven passengers. "There were seven passengers; two fled, three were safe, and two were injured. The injured are being treated at RS Boromeus," he said. Regarding the complete chronology, the incident is still being investigated by the police. "The car was coming from uphill towards downhill," he added. Perdana mentioned that the driver and passengers of the car were suspected of being intoxicated. "Suspected drunk driving, it's a PT vehicle," he remarked.
