Cambodia Focuses on Strengthening Party Organization for Local Elections, Official Meets Candidates in Kratie

Mr. Net Pheaktra, a member of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and head of the party's working group for Kratie province, met with candidates for the 6th mandate of the local council elections in Kratie city on September 19, 2026. The meeting, held in the meeting room of the provincial party office, was attended by approximately 200 CPP leaders and members from the central, provincial, city, and district levels. Mr. Pheaktra stated that the purpose of this gathering was to strengthen the party's work at the grassroots level and to encourage candidates to prepare well for the elections, ensuring they clearly understand their roles and responsibilities in the process. He added that the participation of leaders and members from various levels also serves to enhance coordination and implementation of party work at the local level, aiming for a more organized approach in line with election preparations. Representing the CPP working group in Kratie province, Mr. Net Pheaktra expressed his appreciation and high regard for all leaders, male and female members who have dedicated their physical strength, time, and personal resources to contribute to the development and resolution of issues for the people in Kratie province. Furthermore, Mr. Pheaktra urged all working groups to continue fulfilling the tasks assigned by the party and to go down to the local level to grasp the situation, challenges, opinions, proposals, and requests of the local residents. This, he believes, will contribute to timely problem-solving.
