Thailand to Implement 'MiT Level 3' Certification for Strategic Industries

The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) has confirmed its readiness to implement 'MiT Level 3', a domestic product certification standard for strategic industries. This measure, in line with the decision of the Government Industrial Cluster Policy Committee (GIC), aims to promote the use of domestic products in government procurement. The MiT (Made in Thailand) certification signifies the quality and reliability of products manufactured within Thailand. It is specifically utilized to prioritize support for domestic industries, particularly in government procurement. The current focus is on three industrial sectors identified as having high strategic importance. These sectors are considered essential for Thailand's sustained economic growth and the enhancement of its international competitiveness. The introduction of this certification system is expected to invigorate the domestic manufacturing sector, strengthen supply chains, and ultimately contribute to the overall uplift of the Thai economy. The application of MiT Level 3 certification in government procurement is anticipated to create new business opportunities for domestic companies, while simultaneously encouraging rigorous quality control in line with international standards.
