The governor explained that each mobile clinic is operated by veterinarians and veterinary paramedics, ensuring professional, fast, and standard-compliant animal health services. He added that the presence of these services demonstrates the provincial government's commitment to bringing services closer to the community, maintaining Jakarta's status as a rabies-free city, and supporting its role as a global city that is friendly to animals. Meanwhile, Hardiyanto Kenneth, a member of the Jakarta DPRD from the PDI-P faction, appreciated the launch of the mobile animal clinics. "Jakarta's target is to become an animal-friendly city. The existence of mobile animal clinics like this indicates that the target is slowly being achieved," Kenneth remarked. He noted that the governor has fulfilled one of his campaign promises by expanding access to animal health services for Jakarta residents. However, the member of Commission C of the Jakarta DPRD also suggested that service development needs to continue to ensure its benefits are felt more broadly by the community. All services available on the mobile animal clinics are subject to the applicable official fees. Kenneth explained that the fee rates refer to Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 1 of 2024 concerning Regional Taxes and Levies, which applies to all residents, including animal owners with non-DKI Jakarta ID cards. He encouraged the consideration of special policies to provide some services free of charge, especially for underprivileged residents or in specific circumstances. "So, if there are special incidents or if the animal owner may be underprivileged, there will be special considerations in the future. Perhaps it can be provided for free," he said.
