Nghe An Province to Increase High School Admissions by Over 3,400

The People's Committee of Nghe An Province in central Vietnam has approved adjustments to the development plan for high schools and vocational education and continuing education institutions for the 2026-2027 academic year. This approval allows schools across the province to increase their enrollment quotas for the 10th grade by over 3,400 students. This decision is part of a broader effort to expand educational opportunities and prepare for future labor demands in Vietnam. Under its one-party system, Vietnam has experienced rapid economic growth, and with industrial upgrading, the cultivation of a skilled workforce has become a pressing issue. Particularly, improving educational infrastructure and ensuring equal educational opportunities in rural areas are considered essential for the development of society as a whole. The increase in enrollment quotas will provide more students with access to higher education and broaden their future career paths. Nghe An Province is also advancing initiatives for regional development, including cracking down on illegal parking fee collection in the coastal tourist city of Cua Lo and strengthening support for local educational sites. Furthermore, the province has indicated its intention to accelerate the use of priority items for boarding schools, aiming for operational readiness before August 30, highlighting its commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure.
