Hanoi Prepares Low-Emission Zone with Parking and Transit Hubs

Hanoi, Vietnam's capital, has initiated crucial infrastructure development for its 'Low Emission Zone' (LEZ) initiative, scheduled to commence on July 1, 2026. The construction of parking lots and public transport transit hubs at the zone's gateways is considered a key measure to ensure the city's transition to green transportation. This LEZ concept is part of Hanoi's long-term strategy to reduce air pollution and establish sustainable urban mobility. Hanoi has been working towards consensus with relevant departments and citizens from the initial stages of this initiative, proceeding with a phased implementation. Reports indicate that adjustments have already been made to the routes of four bus lines to support the pilot operation of the LEZ.
