Cambodia and US Discuss Procedures for Cambodian Military Cadets at Naval Academy

A delegation from the Cambodian Ministry of National Defense has begun discussions on the procedures for Cambodian military personnel to attend training programs at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. This visit is seen as part of efforts to revitalize bilateral military cooperation between the two nations. The official visit, held on the morning of July 23, 2026, saw the Cambodian delegation, led by Undersecretary of State for Defense Rat Dararath, meet with Paul Fujimura, Director of the International Programs Office at the U.S. Naval Academy. This marks the first official visit by a Cambodian military delegation to the institution. During the meeting, both sides discussed the specific procedures for selecting Cambodian trainees. Furthermore, they explored areas for cooperation aimed at strengthening broader bilateral military cooperation in the future.
