Only private schools meeting specifications will be allowed to register

It has been learned from the Ministry of Education that for the upcoming 2027-2028 academic year, only schools that have been operated in accordance with the standards set by the Ministry of Education will be registered, after being inspected by township, district, and regional education officers, regional supervisory committees, and the private school supervisory committee. Only private schools that meet the specifications will be granted private school registration. The Ministry of Education and the Private School Supervisory Committee have granted temporary opening permits to a total of 1092 schools out of 368 new private schools that applied for private school registration, 598 schools that applied for renewal, and 146 schools that applied for school upgrading for the 2026-2027 academic year. These include 360 new schools, 598 renewals, and 134 school upgrades that meet the specifications of the Private Education Law and the Private School Supervisory Committee. Furthermore, it has been learned from the Ministry of Education that for private schools that were granted opening permission for the 2026-2027 academic year, those that have met the specifications for school facilities and area, and have accepted students exceeding their capacity, but still have insufficient classroom numbers, have been granted a temporary one-year period for improvement within the current academic year.
