Kampong Thom Province: Stung Treng District Governor Encourages High School Exam Candidates

A motivational gathering was held at the district hall on August 8th for over 100 high school students and their guardians from Kompong Chin Tboung Commune, Stung Treng District, Kampong Thom Province, who are preparing for the upcoming Grade 12 national examinations. Mr. Say Kimlom, Governor of Stung Treng District, offered valuable advice to the candidates. He emphasized the importance of high attention from Mr. Thao Jesta, Head of the Working Group for Stung Treng District, and Mr. Pon Sach, Head of the Working Group for Kompong Chin Tboung Commune, who are closely monitoring the well-being of citizens, especially the youth preparing for the examinations scheduled for August 10th and 11th. Mr. Say Kimlom further advised the students to focus their minds, maintain good health, and prepare thoroughly to achieve excellent results. He urged them to consider their future studies at universities and specialized institutions with a long-term perspective, aligning their choices with their interests, aptitudes, and the demands of the modern digital society and labor market. He also instructed the candidates to travel to the provincial capital of Kampong Thom or their examination centers with a calm mind and utmost caution to ensure their personal safety, and to enter the exams with high confidence. The students expressed their profound gratitude to the working group leaders for their support and encouragement. They also wished the leaders further success in their endeavors. It was noted that Mr. Pon Sach provided financial support of 50,000 Riel (approximately $12.50 USD) to each candidate. Additionally, the commune administration supported 11 self-nominated candidates with 50,000 Riel each, and Governor Say Kimlom provided an additional 50,000 Riel each to 11 underprivileged students. This event highlights the Cambodian government's and local communities' commitment to education and supporting the future of its youth. The emphasis on adapting to the digital era aligns with the nation's economic development strategies. While not directly mentioning relations with China, the focus on economic progress is consistent with Cambodia's policies to deepen economic ties with China.
