The arrested individual, Heng Chunhak, 38, allegedly stole a Honda Dream 125cc motorcycle belonging to a construction worker and was found attempting to flee with a case of oysters loaded onto the stolen vehicle. The incident occurred around 11 AM on July 14th at a construction site in Preah Sihanouk city. The victim, Pun Kosal, a 21-year-old construction worker, reported that he had parked and locked his motorcycle at the site but discovered it missing during his work break. He subsequently filed a complaint with the local police. Authorities from Preah Sihanouk initiated an investigation, utilizing the GPS tracking system installed on the stolen motorcycle. The GPS data indicated that the suspect was heading towards Phnom Penh, traversing through Kampot, Takeo, Kampong Speu, and Kandal provinces via National Road 3. In coordination with the Chom Chao 3rd District Police Station in Phnom Penh, the Preah Sihanouk police successfully intercepted the suspect and the motorcycle around 1 PM on the same day. The apprehension took place on a concrete road in Prey Pring Cheung 1 village, Chom Chao 3rd District. Seized items included motorcycle lock-picking tools, a wallet, two mobile phones, the stolen 2026 Honda Dream 125cc motorcycle (black, license plate Phnom Penh 1MA-1297), and the case of oysters. Heng Chunhak, reportedly from Memot district, Tbong Khmum province, was said to be without a fixed address prior to his arrest.
