Vietnam and Laos reaffirmed their special friendship and commitment to building peaceful borders through the Border Defence Friendship Exchange. A new border guard station gifted to Laos symbolizes strengthened cooperation and solidarity.
A series of activities highlighting the political, defence and humanitarian dimensions of the third Vietnam – Laos Border Defence Friendship Exchange took place on July 9 at the Nam Can (Nghe An, Vietnam) – Nam On (Bolikhamsai, Laos) international border gate, further reinforcing the two countries' special friendship and shared commitment to building a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development. The station, funded and built by the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence as a gift to Laos, is intended to strengthen coordination between border guard forces, reaffirming solidarity between the two countries.
