President Prabowo Attends Book Launch, Delivers Speech on Leadership
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attended the launch of Bahlil Lahadalia's book, delivering a speech on leadership. He emphasized that true leaders require not only courage but also goodness, virtue, and empathy, suggesting that leadership is forged through overcoming adversity.
President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia attended the launch of Bahlil Lahadalia's book titled "10 Karya Nyata untuk Negeri: Setengah Abad Bahlil Lahadalia" in Jakarta on Friday (7/8). During the event, Prabowo delivered a speech on leadership, stating that a leader not only needs courage but also must possess goodness, virtue, and empathy. "Courage without virtue may appear as leadership, but it could be a leader who is not careful, a leader who is not wise, and ultimately a leader who endangers those being led," Prabowo stated. He emphasized the importance of these three values, asserting that courage alone is insufficient for leadership. Prabowo further elaborated on two perspectives regarding leadership: those who are born leaders and those who are made leaders. He believes that the DNA of a leader is present from birth. "So, brothers and sisters, challenging conditions, obstacles, and hindrances are precisely the conditions that nurture a leader," he remarked. Prabowo also suggested that individuals who do not face obstacles, difficulties, or suffering are unlikely to become leaders. He reiterated that leadership is not a gift received freely but is obtained through hard work, attitude, and the values inherent within a person.
